Project MU

Slowly but surely all the pieces come in and get done............ Stoked I got the ones I wanted though. They're probably the best suited street pad for the S2000. The colour was in NO way influential... haha :) But yeah. happy they came, they're on and doing their job... after all, we all have a job to do....... haha

Cars......... it's a process

A lot of people (myself included) like to blog about the upgrades and cool things that we add to our cars. But unfortunately it's not always peaches and cream... things break, go wrong, make noises, and baffle my (mechanically ignorant or.... inexperienced rather) mind. It was 2 days before I was set to head to Knysna for the 2014 Hill Climb. And I could NOT get my car into gear.... I couldn't reverse... I couldn't do anything. Eventually rolled the car back a bit and whilst it was moving tried to wangle a gear somewhere then getting to work was fine, hairy and dodge... but manageable. Reading forums frantically and just like googling "Why is there a pain in my arm" - a whole bunch of potential problems came up.. Eventually took it to someone to diagnose ... and it seemed it just needed brake fluid.. the slave cylinder was effed and probably had been leaking since I've had the car and finally just ran dry. Brake fluid in.. car's going into gear. Nice. :)

Some people don't care about what the problems are that their cars experience, they just want it fixed... I, (like with anything in life) want to understand why and how it happened and what the fix is... understanding in anything .. is everything.. to me anyway. Creates comfort in that thing so to say.

Well the fun and games didn't end there... just a month later my key decides that it's not fond of the ignition or the ignition of the key anymore, whichever way - they weren't allowing me to get home from work. I was stuck - as I have found myself a few times .. others due to locked keys in the car hahaha. Yes I learned very quickly that my car automatically locks itself when the key is on the seat and doors are closed. Anyway................. I was rescued by our trusty go-to-people in life - my parents. :) For two days my car slept away from home and Joe Davis completely removed my ignition and fixed it yesterday - thank the POPE (or whoever was responsible) that replacement wasn't necessary.

Anyway all in all... it's a bittersweet feeling when something goes wrong, because for me it's still a learning curve...... and improving on my own roadside assistance if I can call it that.. is part of the story.......... :) That said - the next blog post for cvws2k should be a cooler one...

Pleats and Treats

I created this page for my sister to showcase her designs and ever since.. the response has been aymayzing.... :) Of course there are more pleats than there are treats haha, (that being my department) but it was more of a gimmick to get people to see her stuff. Though I did receive one or two requests for my lemon meringue haha. Anyway we've made a good online team where she makes what she does and I take photos, make them cool for the page and market it. In turn she makes me stuff. Win Win, who wouldn't love that. Today she left something for me at her house that she had made, as well as one for my mom. It's a new thing that she's going to be doing for functions and gifting etc. She actually made the bracelets herself, created the card and then gave a personalized message to my mom and made a personalized one for me....................... was nice timing....... when things are hectic, to get something that makes you smile inside despite what's happening outside.

Tea and toast

When I make a decision to do something or not to do something.... It's because I know how I react to or deal with consequence.... When I go back on that decision... I only punish myself... It's Futile....

Pillow talk..

Is love actually enough... And I don't mean in order to be happy... I mean to decide that the other person is the one forever and ever.. Is love the only variable? Or is it just the main one... But perhaps not the biggest one? Can u be completely and utterly in love with someone you're not compatible with? What if the love is so intense that you are blinded by the mere fact that your visions for the future or how you want to live it aren't the same? How does one truly Ever know? Until they're in the position (usually married) where those things come up and the passion dwindles a little with every disagreement.... To a point where there are more disagreements than passion.... And then they are forced to face a reality where they aren't in each other's lives going forward because each person has become a shadow self of who they once were before they fell into the deepest and craziest place in one's life.................... "In love"

Smile......

I was really bleak with the weather on Friday coz I thought for sure that come 5:45 am on Saturday morning it was either going to be blowing gales or raining buckets (neither of which would have been conducive to a good time for the race or health afterwards) But I woke up opened the door and........... it was perfect! If you consider perfect to be 8 degrees hahahhah. But temp means nothing, resistance - everything.

We got down there, registered and whatnot, and as he was counting down to the bang, I looked at my watch and the battery was dead!! It was fine when I arrived, so who knows what was up...In a nutshell I ran blind..... the whole way. Also, I don't remember there being so many effing hills! But flip, I thought I have to just push so that whatever I finish with I know I "couldn't" have done any better. That being the theory on paper I guess. Anyway finished and asked the guy in front of me what we did and he said 56:20 and I still counted the seconds it took me to get to start banner so I knew (mild OCD haha) But to be fair when you're trying to beat a time, the seconds do count :) Anyway it was 10 secs. So although I'm not breaking world records.... I did break mine... by half a minute, so I was quite happy with that. It's not a lot, but more than that it's just cool I guess... coz first time you do well you always think distance was maybe wrong, or it was a fluke, haha. Anyway... enough about that.

Mother's day and mom's bday was tied in one on Sunday (even though her birthday is only tomorrow) - she just figured with all the fam together - it made sense. She got a lot of chocolate and messages................................. chilled Sunday vibes.........
Charlie Chaplin said it best....

X

So Voting done by 8am this morning... I Was standing in the rain along with other like-minded people who wanted to get it over with ASAP.... Got to the mance karate club at 7am and there was already a pretty intimidating queue. Wasn't too bad though... Now it's couch time with a ridiculously huge blanket and series..... Nice day to be lying around at home......

Long drives

It's always scary when you're no longer behind the wheel.......... because you've let someone else take it to get you to your destination. It's easier to just keep your head down at the watch than face forward and experience the drive coz it's..well... scary... But if you trust the driver, then there's an element of tranquility I guess.... Driving when you're tired isn't ideal.... but when you can't even see anymore.... well that's just dangerous....... So it's safer to switch seats.

Spar Run Vibes

This chick won..... and with no calves! That's pretty radical... Well that time is........... Not sure what she eats for breakfast, flipsakes.

1. Diana-Lebo Phalula 00:32:27                          (That's like 3.15 mins/km - and completely ridiculous)

Everyone (well except this chick) seemed to be a little off the pace from what I was overhearing in the queue and after the race). It was flippen hot though... everyone looked finished at the end (except this chick) hahaah. I was a bit slower by a couple minutes from last 10km, but still under an hour. Not ideal, but not stressed either. Route was tougher and it was a packed race, but not blaming anything, coz I could feel the week's gym training was playing a role.. legs felt a bit tired? So ya :) Anyway will take it a bit easier this week coz it's Sunridge next Saturday and that's a good one..............
