Always on the pulse

I have danced and loved to all my life... whether it be at the start with dad...

Or eventually in my own bedroom to crazy girl music or bands I dreamed of seeing one day...

Or girls' nights out, where the music didn't stop and we had to tie up our hair and reapply make up every 30 minutes because we were dripping from the amount of dancing we did.... endless nights of fun - just dancing...

To finally approaching a studio where they said hip hop was a class they gave.. this was in 2008. Madness, where do I sign up. And then i did.. and so we did...

Great memories were made on the dance floor, on stage, concerts, shows, wherever the music was good....

But on the 27th March I put on my funny black blocks (dance shoes) for the last time as we dance a showcase for the studio at Linkside High. Like all good things... they do tend to come to an end. And sadly enough, I have danced my life cycle to its end... well at least the performing part of it. But I don't think the dancing's over.... not by a long shot... it's just that the event and occasions will have its time and place in the future...and they'll be there... they'll come.... and then there'll be dancing again :) Yea! Until then... Life's a dance......

Night Relay

The last time I ran in a relay race, I must have been in high school at some compulsory athletics day.... Well last night I was asked to fill in, in running the 3rd of 5 legs totaling a distance of 21km across the team. That team being Automax. I was hesitant due to being reasonably fit at the moment but unsure of my running fitness in general, but obliged anyway. Why not, when sporting activities are fun - they should never be missed. Training as we all know can be boring, but events are exciting man... so despite knowing how I'd fair and also how amazing or not my team was, I just thought the distance was fine, so there was no way I could bomb out. I would literally sprint and kill myself, or run a little faster and just enjoy the sweat :) About 50 teams or so entered. Gamble pharmacy had a current Olympian runner. WTF? Needless to say their team won overall and of course first in the Mens Running division with a time of 1:04:56 for 21km.. You know what that is right?........... It's childish... hahaaha! Their average pace was 3mins/km. Insane. On the right - this is the dude, he did 4.2km in 11 minutes:

Anyway, Team Automax came 19th overall out of 29 mixed teams. We need to sort that out... haha... But it was good fun and cool part is we actually got along well - team vibes and all... and they've asked me to do the others with them. We finished 21km in 2:00 :) I did my best time in a 4.2km, which is cool coz I got to gauge the pace I can do for corporate ironman, though I'll be slower obviously, but I know what I am capable of doing without other stuff before it. Going to try run 4.2km hard every opportunity I get - in theory I should start to improve my times.. Well the last 2 runs now have proven to be more comfortable that previous ones, so here's hoping after a 18km cycle - I'll be ok... But yeah, enjoying taking part in events... Having fun whilst getting fit.. that's all :)

Because you can't count on everyone..

Sometimes you're making memories with people you want to and other times you're not... But at the end of the day as long as they're happy ones - that's gotta count for something. There are some people who aren't making any, or worse even none of them are happy times... Families have issues... all of them - I don't care you are, where you're from or what the family name bank account statement says.. they just all do. But nobody........ at all........ can regret a good day, a laugh, a joke or a reminisce from when you were young and did that and that with people in your family. They're your nearest and dearest, they're the first ones to know the most about you, and the ones who probably know things about each other that not everyone does. They make their own choices... which are shit a lot of the time - hence families being screwed up... but at the end of the day... if your family is the kind like mine - which have the biggest hearts in the their chests (every issue aside.. its very difficult to not love the time you spend with them.. when you're away from the world..... the real world anyway.... its not always a forgiving time, but a temporary forgetting time......

Lessons we've learned: We don't always practice

A year from now you'll wish you had started today..........
