People are stupid

There is no space in the world for IDIOTS who allow this kind of thing to happen.................... These poor fucking giraffe's have no clue where they're going, No clue why they are in a container on an effing highway.... And not only should they endure this unsafe means of transport, they should also become yet another victim of "case in point" --- The world is full of incompetent people in decision making positions. It's frightful. It would be a lonely place if nature rid the world of morons like this.... Sorry but I feel very strongly when an animal has to die at the hand of a human.

"Giraffe dies after smashing head on low highway bridge on N1 Centurion"

According to Sapa, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Tshwane managing director Rick Allan said, “The giraffe died due to the trauma to the head.”

There is no clarity over what hit the giraffe’s head, but Allan said the giraffe was being transported incorrectly, as its head was above the vehicle.

Allan told Eyewitness News, “All we can ascertain at this stage is severe head trauma. We are continuing our investigation with the view to possibly lay criminal charges against those responsible.”

The SPCA received alerts from the public about two giraffes being transported in the truck. Some eyewitnesses toldEyewitness News that they saw one of the giraffes hit its head as the truck went under a bridge. eNCA was told it was the Garsfontein bridge.

The giraffe were then stranded on the highway after the truck transporting them broke down.

"The impact of the giraffe's head on the bridge was so loud that my cousin who was driving me asked if someone had been shot...I saw the giraffe's head get hit very hard on the concrete under the bridge and kind of be propelled forward...

More from yester-year

Every second is an hour... every hour is forever
Time became less, now time is more
Time is different and so the difference
With so few in my corner what did i imagine
With walls like skyscrapers, i had no strength to climb
With bruised ego and descending belief
The look I wore resembled forfeit
But what could it be if not that
If we are what we are...

A shadow of a bright light that faded

Jeremy Loops eve in JBay

I don't tend to drive through the night for concerts (I totally should though), but when I heard that Jeremy Loops was going to be here, and that it was down the road, it wasn't really a question anymore, but rather a given. Got there shortly after 7pm on Friday night only to be told that he would be on at 11pm and that the Lucas Reunion band would be on at 10pm. 4 Hours to kill.... um... ok let's get food. So, off to a little restaurant nearby, as you can see below, it had decadent cheesecake, which was preceded by Chicken and Bacon nachos unlike any other I've had. So an all round winner place to kill the time. IT was around 9:30pm that we all headed up to Jolly Dolphin and the band was playing already and loads of people around. Very cool, had fun and too many laughs at what seemed like super strange people. It's cool when you're with someone who laughs and judges in that same like-minded way, haha, yes Hayley, you did a great rendition of a gay american guy pleading for his blue jersey with the stars, because there literally was a typical boy jock with perfect blonde wavy hair, teeth and height with a blue jersey and stars. You probably had to be there... Jeremy Loops was awesome. Left around 12pm - waaaay past my bedtime hahaha. Worth the effort for sure. Except I remember how annoying drunk kids are and the lines they say:  #Digyourteeth

Writing.. kinda my thing..

Not to say I'm any good really.... but I've always enjoyed the bursts of pen to paper when the words start formulating in my mind....... written a bunch over the years.. not necessarily any reflection of my experience so much as witnessed experience of others in general.. and all that life is, and will be, the feelings that people go through and endure..... I guess.

In the dark of night I sit and wonder
The minutes pass by, still no hint of light
The depth of the dream destructs within
And all that’s left is a weeping soul
The rest are shattered shards of what was
Silence prevails and the whisper of the wind is all around
No more is the vision grey...
No more is there a vision

Project MU

Slowly but surely all the pieces come in and get done............ Stoked I got the ones I wanted though. They're probably the best suited street pad for the S2000. The colour was in NO way influential... haha :) But yeah. happy they came, they're on and doing their job... after all, we all have a job to do....... haha

Cars......... it's a process

A lot of people (myself included) like to blog about the upgrades and cool things that we add to our cars. But unfortunately it's not always peaches and cream... things break, go wrong, make noises, and baffle my (mechanically ignorant or.... inexperienced rather) mind. It was 2 days before I was set to head to Knysna for the 2014 Hill Climb. And I could NOT get my car into gear.... I couldn't reverse... I couldn't do anything. Eventually rolled the car back a bit and whilst it was moving tried to wangle a gear somewhere then getting to work was fine, hairy and dodge... but manageable. Reading forums frantically and just like googling "Why is there a pain in my arm" - a whole bunch of potential problems came up.. Eventually took it to someone to diagnose ... and it seemed it just needed brake fluid.. the slave cylinder was effed and probably had been leaking since I've had the car and finally just ran dry. Brake fluid in.. car's going into gear. Nice. :)

Some people don't care about what the problems are that their cars experience, they just want it fixed... I, (like with anything in life) want to understand why and how it happened and what the fix is... understanding in anything .. is everything.. to me anyway. Creates comfort in that thing so to say.

Well the fun and games didn't end there... just a month later my key decides that it's not fond of the ignition or the ignition of the key anymore, whichever way - they weren't allowing me to get home from work. I was stuck - as I have found myself a few times .. others due to locked keys in the car hahaha. Yes I learned very quickly that my car automatically locks itself when the key is on the seat and doors are closed. Anyway................. I was rescued by our trusty go-to-people in life - my parents. :) For two days my car slept away from home and Joe Davis completely removed my ignition and fixed it yesterday - thank the POPE (or whoever was responsible) that replacement wasn't necessary.

Anyway all in all... it's a bittersweet feeling when something goes wrong, because for me it's still a learning curve...... and improving on my own roadside assistance if I can call it that.. is part of the story.......... :) That said - the next blog post for cvws2k should be a cooler one...

Pleats and Treats

I created this page for my sister to showcase her designs and ever since.. the response has been aymayzing.... :) Of course there are more pleats than there are treats haha, (that being my department) but it was more of a gimmick to get people to see her stuff. Though I did receive one or two requests for my lemon meringue haha. Anyway we've made a good online team where she makes what she does and I take photos, make them cool for the page and market it. In turn she makes me stuff. Win Win, who wouldn't love that. Today she left something for me at her house that she had made, as well as one for my mom. It's a new thing that she's going to be doing for functions and gifting etc. She actually made the bracelets herself, created the card and then gave a personalized message to my mom and made a personalized one for me....................... was nice timing....... when things are hectic, to get something that makes you smile inside despite what's happening outside.

Tea and toast

When I make a decision to do something or not to do something.... It's because I know how I react to or deal with consequence.... When I go back on that decision... I only punish myself... It's Futile....
