Life Medal :)

Like a sporting activity, even some tough day's have a medal at the end  :)

Some obstacles.............

My medal at the end of it............

Moral of the story: Bad things always happen in 3's, but then at the end - you get a milkshake - one of the best :)

Read other's stories and understand life....

Your thoughts become your actions, your actions define you, what defines you determines your destiny....
So.. Master your thoughts, which will allow you to master the mind, which will allow you to master your happiness and then you then you will have mastered your destiny........

No one is in an unfortunate position.... we are where we are because we choose to be. Weakness is not a family trait, its a choice. Anyone can overcome anything if we choose to. Our mind controls our outcomes.

You want to be happy? Choose to be.

It's all relative

The Law of Relativity decided to have an affect on my thoughts last night. I guess when I think about it.. what is time really? Is it the literal amount that exists for everybody or is it more the amount it feels like and holds for you individually? If I am losing sleep waiting on a result for an exam for example where I'm counting the days, vs the person who did so well that their mind has gone to other places already in a casual wait for the result. Am I waiting longer for the result than them who is surprised at how quickly it came? Is time only actually in our minds? Or wait, let me rephrase.... is time's length, only how we interpret it according to situations we encounter day to day?

But then I beg to question the law of relativity where when you're doing something you enjoy - the time is shorter than the amount of time spent doing something we don't enjoy. So in theory...... in our minds...... if we're constantly joyous.. we're living shorter 'felt' lives than those going through struggle in life?

For some people remembering a date a year ago feels like yesterday and for others they can't even remember it, so what's better? And we ask why? I'm asking why dammit!! The reason why it crossed my thoughts is because I understand the emotion of time when I'm not happy, but the moment I am, time doesn't matter or exist...Well not that it doesn't exist - but the literal time converts to relative time... and in a good place, relative time is what I make it to be.. which is shorter than literal time. It makes sense that when we're happy - time doesn't matter, but when we're not - every second counts. To focus on time lengthens it, to forget it - shortens it... So what do we do? Do we, in a good moment - focus on the time so we experience it fully? And in pain, or discomfort do we rather take our mind elsewhere and not watch the clock or count the days - occupy ourselves in other words? It's the only way I can imagine that we'll get it right to remember how long the good times are or were, and to shorten the bad ones in our mind.

It's all strange... and time..... well it's all relative to the time spent...
And our happiness - we actually control it, by choosing how we'd like to interpret it..

(rhcp) Thanks to you -

Sometimes I feel
Like I don't have a partner
Sometimes I feel
Like my only friend
Is the city I live in
The city of angels
Lonely as I am
Together we cry

I drive on her streets
'Cause she's my companion
I walk through her hills
'Cause she knows who I am
She sees my good deeds
And she kisses me windy
I never worry
Now that is a lie

I don't ever want to feel
Like I did that day
Take me to the place I love
Take me all the way

It's hard to believe
That there's nobody out there
It's hard to believe
That I'm all alone
At least I have her love
The city she loves me
Lonely as I am
Together we cry

I don't ever want to feel
Like I did that day
Take me to the place I love
Take me all that way

Under the bridge downtown
Is where I drew some blood
Under the bridge downtown
I could not get enough
Under the bridge downtown
Forgot about my love
Under the bridge downtown
I gave my life away

Shoot to thrill

Do we become bored if we're boring, or do we become boring coz we're bored. It's not a riddle I promise. Hahahhaha. But seriously though..... sometimes you wake up and go JEEZ I need some excitement out of my life, it's on a bit of a go slow... so should i jump out of a plane? Off a bridge? Or just redesign my shoes and choice of sarmie filling? Starting small and easy always seems to be a safer bet. You can buy new shoes if you stuff them up, you can reorder if the sandwich is shit. But if the chute doesn't pull or the cord wraps around your neck, wellllllll, perhaps you should've just relaxed a little that day on the rash decision making. Coz you can't very well change that form of excitement. What's done is done! Thank God im pretty rational. haha.

But yeah, I guess if the feeling's there... or perhaps it's been there a while, but the self realisation of it being there only comes about at a certain time later, the best thing is to change things up a bit... but don't lose your mind! Haha. CAUTION: Danger ahead. change your sandwich, change your cd, cut your hair, try a new restaurant, do things differently. I guess I'll do that... coz a rut is no place to be. And maybe I'll find I miss the regular sandwich and old cd and revert back... or I'll enjoy it when I have it.... coz I choose it, not coz its the only option I have.

Hahahahah, and Wilson Phillips is on the radio now telling me to hold on for one more day. Maybe tomorrow will give me reason :) Hmmmm.... haha such a conspirator.

Road rage? What you mean?

Things I love today:

People who don't indicate where they're turning - I waited for you.. patiently, and I could have gone? Thanks.... coz we all have time to sit around at circles and intersections. It's a favourite pastime really...

People who indicate 2 turning's before their actual turning - I almost T-boned you? But forgive me for thinking you were actually going to turn - given then bright flicking 'indication' you had indicated, when in fact all that was indicated, was that you don't know when the correct time is to make use of your indicator. :/

People who create this mysterious middle lane between the straight and turning lane, when they are indeed switching from one to the other. So the guy (me) behind him can't continue going straight because half of him is still cruising straight and the other half is turning... make up your mind buddy.. you messing with the flow.

People who pull up. stop. look left. look right. look left again.............. at a 4 way stop. Is this a joke? Are there hidden cameras I don't know about?

People who start turning out before they turn in within dual carriageway. There are actually cars in the other lane trying to keep on driving as normal before having to swerve right whilst you veer right beofr ehooking your left. It's not my fault your turning circle sucks... But you can't start driving right to drive left. Its just not on.

Yours sincerely
Avoiding colliding with you in order to prove my point :)

Try, try, try again....and again, and again.... and

Work..................... seriously!?!!? WTF

I am being tested I know that..... I only know because this amount of things can't go wrong especially on top of the amount of things I am doing right. I will persevere, it's my strength to... But there better be a reward at the end of it, because I'm at a loss for answers right now................ Something's gotta give, that's all I know.

KO mofo

You never know when you're gonna be faced with a situation where you need you bring the gloves out.............. Just hope you're never in it. But if you are, be faster, be quicker, be smarter, and outsmart and outfight that A-hole til the threat's no longer there.. hahaha

You have one life I guess.. so best to always be prepared. I've realised that anything can happen to anyone at any time. Never assume your luck overrides life's bullshit and less than favourable scenarios. So angry that I need to realise this. But it's true.......... life I guess? :)

For the rest of us who don't have a snowballs' chance in winning a fight against a large unfriendly thief/rapist/piece-of-shit, at least we'll know how to throw a decent punch if needed! And maybe outsmart them.. haha

Ordered these guys................ pretty sweet....waiting on em, bag up soon.... gonna get all the practice I need. I'm just keen to be strong...... but mostly I really wanna punch deserving people in the FACE!!!!!!!

PS, colour? awww yea

Soapbox

When did each and every one of us become so high and mighty? We have all come to think or actually legitimately 'believe' that we know best, we have all the answers, we know the best route, way and solution for everything over and above everyone else? It must surely be quite a sad place to be, no matter how awesome it may feel.... but to know that no one can help you because no one knows better, you can no longer learn any life lessons from anyone, because you already know the outcome and discussion from how it would end up. Really? Here's a word.......

hum·ble
/ˈhÉ™mbÉ™l/ Adjective
----  Having or showing a modest or low estimate of one's own importance.

Allow yourself to be in situations where you are humbled. ie, hang out with people who will teach you things, who's values you admire, who's words you think might teach and not just bore, because it seems pointless. You don't always know better. I don't always know better. I think I do sometimes as well - with certain people. ie my mom. She is a classic case of my person I need to learn to humble myself around. I believe i know better and more the right way to everything vs what she knows or could help me with. So how will I humble myself with her and the others I think I know better than? Easy -When I talk to her, I am going to start asking things where I KNOW for a fact she may have an answer I don't. Or an experience that I have no idea the feeling of etc. That way I can be humble in her response. Because at that point I truly don't or shouldn't have the right to think I know better. I don't. So if you find yourself not talking to someone anymore or getting into something with them or whatever the case may be, maybe you belittle them because they are saying something stupid etc. Allow the conversation to happen by being in one where you don't know the answer.....

We can't live on soap boxes with people we care about... It's not worth it. It makes them feel not needed, as though they have nothing to offer the relationship or friendship because every opinion is overruled by theirs, or they never say ' i need your help' or I need to know something.... etc. People like to feel needed. But that aside, it's a good thing to allow yourself to be humbled... arrogance is ugly. Confidence is awesome. But no one knows everything... so let's just chill and allow for everyone to give opinions... they matter to the people giving them... so yeah. Trying not to forget that my side as well.. Just stuff on my mind... Writing about it is easier than finding some poor soul to discuss it with that might not want to. Hahaha

Bitter pill

the turmoil of trials
the tribulations of treachery
what did you expect?
happiness in a box with a bow?
oh no,
look outside, can you see the sky?
its blue thats a guarantee, or is it?
when it rains no such colour is seen
though perhaps in your soul..
forget the world and its madness
no one promised you it would be devoid of sadness
they only promised coping mechanisms
weapons of survival,
strength and determination will conquer the greatest battles
the greatest battles live within -
so win them then if its you alone you're fighting...
hell, win the War
at the end if there're scars - you were brave
if you're alive, that's it.... that's all we were meant to do....
survive...

Wangan Hoonigan

Passion for driving...... or is it cars? Haha, I fall into both, as I'm sure most did. So what then, 2013's around the corner, what with the Mayans prophesying Armageddon, none of us really had any outrageous ideas to see the New year in, coz well we may not need to..... Not that any of us are phased either way. For me, as long as the company's right, the rest should be. Long story short, A roadtrip into the Karoo was planned where we'd leave Port Elizabeth - destination Cradock - on the 30th, and leave Cradock for Graaf Reneit on the eve of 2013. One night in each town, and make our way home on New Year's Day. It was all about the drive and not the destinations as such, and so we made the trip all about the drive.............

Brekky stop at Nanaga - had to be done, cops were eyeing us out nicely already.... wouldn't you?? - 6 conspicuous cars all running no plates... ha ha ha. Let's just say we savored every last bite of our pies and rolls before heading back to the car park. With a bit of luck, they were out of sight. Still, we were quire prepared for a line of bullshit stories to feed when we did eventually get pulled over - it was bound to happen. Drive was sweet..... not many cars on the road - strange, but of course super cool for us, especially considering the danger we were about to put our selves in... which entailed our fellow photographer slinky dangling out a convertible snapping rolling shots along olifantskop pass. We're quite fond of him, so we tried to get this done as quickly and safely as possible, all while insisting he get 'the money shots'...... Well, here's a depiction of his commitment on the job.............

It's not often you get a have a cool trip like that and have the opportunity to relive it through quality High def pics such as these... so yeah, thanks again 'my china' :P So many quaint little stops along the way, which literally pop outta nowhere..... So much so that we're almost rear ending each other when they do... First stop was in Middleton.

Next stop........... Daggaboer or some shit. Sounded interesting, we may have been there for a whole ten minutes before we left... but hey, we're never doing it again, (well stopping at a farm stall called daggaboer) so when in Rome........... Quite a few people chilling here and eating, which was strange given it was in the middle of fucking nowhere... But i'm guessing when you smoke the reefer, you keen for some farm style food.... assuming this place has a story behind it's name. 1x very cool and chillaxed cat, jars ad infinutum or jams and preserved goods! And a waitress who though Rob's car was a Ferrari.  Brave guess, we'll give her that.... it is after all - RED. Hahaah :) After these few pics the Wangan Hoonigan departed for the desolate dutch town of Cradock.....

So, what did Cradock have to offer..... A swimming pool? No... An open restaurant? No... Modern Decor? Hahahaahahah, hell no. Luckily that didn't matter. Mozzies? YES.. Heat? Unbearable... But all in all it was cool, coz we weren't there for the luxuries, but more to feel what it was like to just sit around, chill and talk crap with mates. Quinsley had his ipad no doubt... so this was the only techy device that reminded us where we're from. Haha. After walking the less than charming streets of cradock, we resorted to KFC for dinner. The food was welcomed... the flies and dancing homeless kids... not so much. I think we all felt quite relaxed, some more than others, coz there was a lot of sleeping that happened on this trip......

In the morning we had to wait for Christina to finish getting ready before we could leave... Nevermind the fact that we were hungry, we were also super keen to hit the road again, we'd seen enough of Cradock, it was New Years Eve, and we wanted to get our race faces, party faces, and braai faces on. :) We stopped at Wimpy, parked over the road, slinky took some sick shots of the car line up, which I'm still convinced Cradock has never seen the likes of ever.... pretty convinced. It seemed only fitting that the guy who made us wait go get food, inevitably was the one waiting for his food last. Who would have thought yoghurt and fruit took longer to prepare than 8 fry ups?? Anyway, it was as reliable as Wimpy food usually is........ and then we had to wait for Christina to swipe his card. FFS..... hahaha, Wimpy vibes, car vibes, destination - Graaf Reneit! But not before some cool owl house vibes.................. or creepy??

So I've been to the Owl house before a long time ago, So had Quinsley, but for the others I think it was a virgin experience. R40 to get in  - not exactly a snip to walk around some dead woman's old house... But hey, when in Nieu BethesnaDAH, hahahha, so we did as the NB's did and looked at creepy statues, loads of broken glass, took some pics and headed to the Sneeuberg Brewery and Deli.... Wow! Awesome.......... Honey Ale was insisted on and a fine dining cheese board was exactly what the Dr ordered :)

Time to get to Graafies, time to braai and time to close off 2012.......... We'd all had so much fun up to this point, it was just a matter of carrying it through until 12 with hopefully still excited and awake faces. Hahaha.
Well these were some of the faces that we were exposed to until 12'clock....

This is my face:

Awesome braai...... chilled and managed to make it to 12pm, hahaha And toasted with teas and coffees........ :) Very nice accommodation, and it was a perfect evening to close off the trip. Next morning we were going to get up early and hit the Valley of Desolation. Also had been there very long ago. It was super misty in the morning and so we managed to get some really cool pics. We all stood like a bunch of dorks and took a photo in front of an extremely high fall. Quinsley had brown pants! Hahaha :P Very cool trip all in all the rest of the pics tell the story. And it was time to head home. It felt like it was time to as well...... but all in all had such a cool time. Never done that before and it seemed to be something everyone had on their bucket list. Roadtrippin' is definitely on the list of 'DO MORE OF THIS' We stopped for lunch just outside Jansenville for some Kudu burgers. Massive motherfuckers..... De'lish though.. and drove home............... Thanks f=to everyone who made it what it was. Cool pics, cool people, cool vibes.... I look forward to the next one and where and what that will hold. :)
