It's been a while - NO shit!

I love how when you don't hear from someone for a long time and then you decide to contact them to see how they are, (as you do every time) coz for some reason it crossed your mind that its been a while.... It's always an acceptable response to say: "Sorry! Ive just been sooooo busy" It's like if you can bullshit a person by making them believe that their life is 24/7 work, then surely that is a good enough apology because, well... it's work?! Then you get the people who you call when you haven't heard from them in a long time, and they don't even give an excuse OR an apology, in fact it's the most random bullshit conversation in the world. That one where people don't know what to say, so they say: "We must get together some time" And you probably never ever see them again. You might bump into them in a shop and at that point they awkwardly dodge you, so as to avoid the same Bullshit conversation. Anyway.... Make an effort.. all I'm saying....

Shoot your heart out

It's been a good couple of days since I have posted anything, but my mind went on a sabbatical and has officially returned. In this period I decided to buy a camera. And not just any camera, but a decent SLR. I have taken a few shots and am so pleased to say that it's fucking awesome! Hahaha. I imagine that I will get quite involved in it. Right now, I need to just figure out how to play around with it and then I'm sure the rest will follow. It was intended for the trip to Europe next year. I cannot wait to capture the architectural beauty that is set to be seen after going through the itinerary. Super excited! Anyway, I'll be somewhat good behind the camera by then I think, :) Watch this space!

And on to other things.............. haha... Dancing started last night, busy learning what will be my 3rd dance for our end of year show. It's a piece whereby contemporary fuse with hiphop on stage. It's going to great in the end. Lots of choreography learnt last night already. Let's see... It's not far away before we hit the stage again...

Summer's almost here... wow. I also have no idea how I am going to survive it at home, I feel as though my oxygen levels decrease as I walk through the door. But that's ok, I spend too much time indoors anyway, maybe I'll just start spending my evenings going for drives and taking pics.. perhaps the beach?!

While my mind has returned, it is still full of shit and trying to be positive.. I am also hoping for positive outcomes and things to happen for a lot of people who need it and are waiting for it..

"everything will be okay in the end, if it's not okay..... it's not the end"

Hombre's & Mujeres

Men and Women’s bathrooms should be indicated just by the words ‘ladies and gents’, not silhouettes of a strapping man or lady of the night, gender symbols, or words in another language that mean I need to understand whether I’m heading into the right bathroom based on my brushed up European. There shouldn’t be sombrero’s or female and male versions of hens and crap. When I need to pee, the last thing I wanna do is uncomfortably dance outside two doors staring at the ‘bathroom indicators’ of which one I should enter. Eventually I end up seeing a male going into the one and naturally burst through the door next to his, assuming and hoping that he isn’t a screaming queen and his preference is to use a ladies room. In which case I could potentially be blinded by running into ‘the cockhouse’ and not the henhouse...

Ladies and gents.... that’s all. We don’t need to play guessing games when going to the loo... we have to guess enough in our life to avoid finding this entertaining. Thanks.

I mean.............. This is one of those moments where you just 'hope' you have solved the riddle and that your logic is in tact when you're walking in.

Why on a Monday?

I feel like I've been hit by a bus today... Not sure why, I hardly did anything this weekend - well, sleep-inducing anyway. I felt buggered last night, struggled to get up this morning and my head feels the weight of a small canon ball. Hopefully coffee gets me through whatever it is. Maybe I'm getting sick.. hope not. Dance class starts tonight again. fml

Choice

I think If I start theorising when it comes to this topic, I could probably come up with a number of different ways to look at it. But there is a category which a certain group fall into when it comes to fate. You either think fate is a load of Bulllshit and you basically determine your own future by the choices you make day to day whether big or small. Then there are those who do think that fate is a very real thing in everyone's 'journey' so to speak. For the former I'd say decision making can be something they take rather seriously. For the latter I imagine them to be the type of people who 'go with the flow' / 'ride the wave' and whatever other figure of speech closely resembles not really being phased by the outcome of their choices - as fate will have what it will and you are a mere pawn in that plan. But then you get another group - the category where I feel I place myself I guess. Whereby I do believe in fate. This is quite funny if you think you know me, because for most that do they would say I'm rather cynical and and straight up with situations or choices, and somewhere near 100% of the time - I am definitely trying me best to figure out the right way to do everything. But for the very few who know ALL of me and how I am.. they'll know the part I just described (all too well too) But they'll know that for some reason that intelligence and reason goes out the window when I talk about fate. I will say things like 'whatever's meant to happen, will' and everything works out ok in the end, if you do good, good will happen unto you.' That kind of stuff and I honestly believe it... But yet, I have such a hard time making decisions. As if it is up to me and me alone to make things happen or not happen. I procrastinate so much it's actually quite ridiculous. Which makes me think these days, do I really believe in fate anymore? I'm starting become cynical toward that belief now, haha. I just wonder then whether I'm living a smarter life by thinking so much before I do? Or whether I'm living my life slower than everyone else might be? I guess every 'wonder' will lead to another and then this post will never end. But choice.... it's a funny thing because if you believe in fate at all... then surely every choice you make - is the right one?

Ambivalent

- Mixed/conflicted feelings, love/hate for something, someone, a certain situation.

I touched on it yesterday with regard to my contact lenses. (Which I'm not wearing today - I'll be ok - haven't driven into anything yet :P) K i d d i n g..... Anyway, today... the emotion is carried for something very different. It's only fun being lost for a short while, those moments where you're nervous, anxious and scared all at the same time creates a form of excitement somewhat. But even that, after a while fades... and then you want to know where you're going again.

FYI... my blog just bought a ticket for a ride on a rollercoaster, so when you don't get it, it's probably not expected that you do...

Bat eyes

I have a love hate relationship with my contact lenses... they help me to see everything perfectly - LOVE... they have also decided to make one eye seriously red from some form of irritation that I don't know the reason for - HATE. I want to have eye laser surgery (laughing) so that I don't have to get in bed all comfy only to realise with all the lights out, that I still have them firmly attached to my eyeballs. Yes, you do need to remove these bad boys every evening. Or have to shut them tightly when there's crazy wind coz it dries them out to the point that i can't see. I would wear the glasses I have, except my little cousin thought it might be funny to break the gut that holds the lens in place, and whilst I'm sure taped up glasses might be super saxay... I don't think its the right look for me. So yeah, contacts love/hate. Love/hate relationships are very tiring... You're over it... but you won't do anything about it. :/

Lowest form of wit? :P

I don't like: - Stupid people
                  - Lazy people

Stupid, lazy people should not approach me... ever.. just saying. Else My bumper sticker (let your eyes gaze upwards on the screen) will have me laughing (inside of course) and leave you looking very confused and not knowing why.... :/

Over n Out

Feeling sad for two reasons: 1) Friday Night Lights came to a close for me last week, and I can honestly say that this series moved me to a point that it felt life-changing. If you haven't had the extreme fortune of witnessing this brilliant series from season 1 to finish, you might not understand or believe what it is I mean by life-changing. If this isn't enough to make you want to see for yourselves, well then you have missed out - I can tell you that much. Developed a love for Tim Riggins, he is the best 'character' I have come to know on TV in forever. In every way and every episode you can relate quite literally to the lives these people live and the things that are faced and how it develops as it gets further along. I guess that's why it captures the heart whilst watching it. 2) Entourage has one episode left of what I can confidently say is my favourite series of ALL time! While I am still - to this point - unsure of how it will go out, I am so eager to see what they have planned for the finale. This series is 100% completely defined by the cocky, vulgar and insanely funny character of Ari Gold. He is fucking brilliant! In no other tv show have I seen a role being played by someone that is sooooo spot on, from the looks he gives to the chirps to the mannerisms all round of Ari Gold. Insane. Unparalleled. Seriously. Anyway, watching this series has been an experience, and it is sad that the era of Entourage on my screen is coming to an end. Hopefully there are more captivating series out there to discover. Im not going to deny the fact that I love my TV time, but its not at the lack of having a million other non-technological hobbies. So that makes me ok with it. :) Ari Gold you are the man, I hope to see you in a series again in the future.

Ari Gold quotes:

Lloyd: Are you hiding something from me Ari?
Ari: Only my cock and my asshole Lloyd..

Mrs. Ari (doesn’t want Ari to pick up his phone during couples therapy): I ask for one hour of a day for his undevided attention, and I can’t even have that.
Ari: You could have it if you want to live in Agoura fucking Hills, and go to group therapy. But if you want a Beverly Hills mansion and you want a country club membership, and you want 9 weeks a year in a Tuscan villa, than I’m gonna need to take a call when it comes in at noon on a motherfucking wednesday.

Lloyd: Ari, you’re wearing the same suit as yesterday?
Ari: That’s because I spent the night in jail
Lloyd: OMG, Ari, why didn’t you call me?
Ari: Because you get one call and I wanted to use it on someone I like to have sex with.

(Ari is about to leave his kid's birthday party for business)
Mrs. Ari: Where are you going?
Ari: They flew in the liver, and I gotta do the transplant. Where do you think I'm going?

Ari: People, staff meeting has been cancelled. You all have one goal today: to get Vincent Chase’s brother, Johnny Chase, a job. Any job! I don’t care if it’s a porn shoot in which he is being gang raped by a gaggle of silverback apes, if there are cameras rolling, everybody wins. 10 grand for anyone that can deliver this to me, today.

Ari's Wife: What's in the bag?
Ari Gold: A kilo of blow. What's with all the fucking questions?

Almost pulled my hair out with this snake cube, but at long last - well after 2 days, I have solved it. Awesome.

AllStarz

For the past month we have been rehearsing overtime to get polished on our dances for show night which took place on Saturday night at the Opera House. Friday night all I could do was play the dances in my mind over and over again til I eventually passed out. (According to the others - they had done exactly the same) haha. Anyway, what a ridiculously long day... it started with a stop at the shop at 7:15am getting a breakfast muffin, redbull and sweets and snacks to keep us fueled during an entire day of 'runner' work (being part of the Allstarz crew it was a prereq) I am still trying to figure out what had possessed me to agree to that.. It then went on to having us assist backstage, run up and down flights of stairs, getting dancers prepared for stage, manning the door, and general 'make-sure-everything-runs-smoothly' kinda duties. So when it came time to chill and actually see the inside of my own change room, I kinda sat on the floor and waited for my feet to stop throbbing. At which point I decided it made more sense to remove my shoes. Running almost an hour behind schedule - totally possible and yet not acceptable at this point, being so, so very tired and needing rejuvenation......Though I guess the break was welcomed.... Well the show got underway, loads of people there and nerves were very present backstage. We did 'Got Moves' and it was awesome, then ran up 3 flights of stairs to our change room for 'The Matrix' in 4 dances time. The Matrix was insane, ppl loved it.. and even though the judges had an almost 'gawking' expression on their face, it seemed that maybe it was just a look of impressed confusion, because the results at adjudication were nothing lined up with something following unimpressed appearances. After the goodbyes to the people who came to watch me, I was off to the Coachman with a few people for something to eat. I was finally done, the work, the stress, the nerves, the adrenalin had all started to simmer to a level close to relaxation, though my feet still hurt, hahaha. Came back just in time to watch the last dance that the rest of my class' girls were in and we hung around waiting for the adjudication. We received a trophy for Best Senior Hip Hop group. We were awarded Diamond for the 2 dances I was in - highest category award. Walked away with a Rosette for coming first in our category and also a Gold Medal for 'Got moves'. We were so tired, but it was totally all worth the smiles in the end.. It was a great show, despite the hiccups and after all was said and done it was home time to rest our weary bodies!

To all of those who came, thanks again.... Watch this space for our 'more fun, end of year show' where we showcase all that Tanya's studio did this year.

Vinyl...

So I took my car in this morning to get the roof vinyl done and although apparently it was somewhat of a tricky request, Chris managed to do a great job. Super stoked, it looks awesome. At first I was all about the High Gloss, I guess what I had in mind to replicate was the vibe and look of the S3. But according to the experts ;) the gloss would scratch far quicker and visibly quicker than that of the matte black. So matte black it is then... Here's what it looks like now .......

Graffiti = Street Art

Some people call it vandalism, I call it art. Sure it has it's place.... some places even I would think it could hurt the look of an area. But in the right places with the right skills - it's something I can't simply drive by without admiring. Though, not all of it is beautifully skilled painting, some are just really clever. I dig that.

"Cheers to the freakin' weekend...."

Flip, Friday has arrived and feeling somewhat rejuvenated.. No clue why.. But I don't question the good things, I embrace them. Haha. So it looks like I'm getting my next 'mod' so-to-speak to my car next week. Getting the top done black. I can say without a doubt in my mind that it will look pretty hot once it's done. When you see the best example of what your car can look like (and within your taste) - you generally want that done. So without going OTT, I have bit by bit been doing to it what I would like done to have it ultimately look the way I imagined it to almost 2 years ago when I decided I wanted one. It's such a cool feeling when you get the car you want, and then are able to get it to reach the look I have for it in my mind. So ya, watch this space, will post a pic after it's done. Other than that, as far as cool news goes, I have dancing like allll the time, and it's rad for sure, but the pressure is building up now with show night just around the corner. Fuck, I'm not sure what it is exactly, but I will do anything and everything but as soon as it cones to exercise some form of confidence in front of people - I want to crawl into a ball and hide. I guess it's just who I am. It's the Virgo in me - the fact that I have to be perfect, things have to be perfect, and if for a second I believe I might be less than what I need to be (or have the potential to be) then I want to retreat and lose whatever confidence I have.. I used to be a lot worse - but it's getting better, with comfort, and the 'try-not-give-a-shit' attitude (that's the tough part) Haha, but yeah, becoming less of an issue I guess. So lots of dancing and the World Cup starts in um, 15 minutes.. :) The first SA game is on Sunday, I will go so far as to say that I don't generally give a crap about Rugby or watching much of any sport really. But when the world cup is on, I do let myself (notice the controlled part) get sucked into the vibe of it all. Which I think is great I guess. No need to hate the game.. Look, I wont be wearing a green and gold shirt, that's just a little bit above the passion I carry for it. Summer's on it's way, and all I can say is.. for the most part I'm smiling more than not. So I'm going with everything that makes me...... I think I deserve that? On that note.. it's time to leave my version on Inception and enter reality by responding to the 20 work emails I have. :/
